According to the “Morning Morning Post” report, the 3M mask is a mask that many people are very fond of. The criminals saw the "business opportunity" and Daqi made counterfeit 3M masks and sold them through the Internet and physical stores. Recently, the Public Security Bureau of the Municipal Public Security Bureau and the Public Security Branch of Fengxian County seized the net at the same time in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai, destroying 8 production and sales counterfeit criminal gangs, destroying 18 production, sales and storage dens, and seizing fake 3M masks on the spot. More than 900,000 semi-finished products were involved, and the total value involved was as high as 46 million yuan.

210 online shopping masks are all fake

Earlier this year, Fengxian Public Security Bureau received a report from a 3M product agent that counterfeit 3M masks were flooding on Taobao. After preliminary screening by the Branch’s Economic Investigation Detachment, there are more than 300 online stores suspected of selling fake 3M masks. Take the best-selling 8210 model mask as an example, formal shops sell 8-9 yuan / only, Taobao shop can be 3 yuan, 2 yuan or even as low as 1.4 yuan. In some specialty stores for counterfeit goods, real and fake masks are mixed, making it difficult to distinguish between true and false.

Through further investigations, the investigators conducted three rounds of screening on suspicious websites: the first step was to determine the minimum cost price of the 8210 mask, and the target was clearly lower than the cost price; the second step was to focus on the clearness of the product page. The 3M logo, claiming to be genuine, preventing bird flu, and obstructing PM2.5 efficacy, these statements clearly misled the buyer; the third step was to review the evaluation, and some said that they couldn't hold the bag and leaked. The saying "smells smells" is not possible in genuine products.

In the end, the investigators selected seven online shops as a breakthrough, and purchased 30 masks in each shop. "Including 8210, 9001 and other hot models, both boxed and bulk, sent to the manufacturers for identification, are false."

By comparing the clues provided by the 3M company's crackers, the investigators locked out frequently occurring addresses in the online transaction records and finally identified 18 production, sales, and storage dens.

Mask protective effect is almost zero

On May 20, the 3M anti-counterfeiting joint action was launched in places like Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai. Fengxian Public Security Bureau together with the local public security authorities smashed a counterfeit 3M mask production and sales center in Fujian and detained more than 180 cases of counterfeit 3M masks. More than 110 million yuan, and seized a production line, six machines.

As verified by 3M (China) Co., Ltd., the filtration efficiency and actual protection effect of these false masks are far below the national standards, and the protection function is almost zero. Some filter masks emit pungent and odious plastic odors that do not meet the requirements of the country for “non-toxic, odorless, and non-allergic” filter media and endanger human health.

It is reported that since the launch of the special operation of “stealing and robbing, preventing fraud, strict management, and maintaining security”, the city’s public security agencies have arrested more than 31,000 suspects of various types of illegality and crimes, up 9.9% year-on-year; more than 13,000 cases have been solved. The increase was 25.9% year-on-year, with the detection rate rising 25.7% from January to April. The 3M masks joint anti-counterfeiting operation is one of the largest operations.
