The expert committee of the China Security and Protection Products Industry Association was held in Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on August 21-22, 2012, with the support of the National Security and Alarm System Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC100), based on suggestions from relevant member units and experts. The “Seminar on the Standardization of Weak Wires (Cables) for Security Use”.

The meeting was chaired by Li Jianping, Deputy Secretary-General of China Association for Security and the Deputy Director of the Experts Committee. Shi Juling, Secretary General of the National Security Standards Committee, came to the conference to guide the technical responsibility of the wire and cable manufacturing companies in Shanghai, Tianjin, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Guangdong. People, representatives of Tianjin, Shenzhen, Tongliao and other local security associations and China Security magazine, China Security Industry Network, as well as representatives of some security engineering companies and operating service companies, attended a total of more than 20 people attended the meeting.

At the meeting, technical leaders of five wire and cable manufacturers made keynote speeches. In their speeches, they elaborated on the related standardization issues of wires and cables for security video surveillance and intrusion alarm system (engineering) applications, and called for the security industry authorities, user organizations, industry associations, standardization organizations, and inspection agencies to pay attention to the transmission of security systems. As for the product quality and engineering quality of cables, it is recommended that joint promotion of the revision, publicity, and supervision of relevant standards be implemented to prevent and reduce hidden dangers in the transmission quality of security systems and ensure the overall effectiveness of the system.

Participants held a serious and enthusiastic discussion on the theme of the conference, focusing on the special features of the weak wire (cable) products for security in terms of function and performance, and their special applications in the selection, installation, and acceptance of security projects. Requirements; whether the security industry is necessary on the basis of the current relevant national standards, industry standards, carry out the corresponding standardization work and other hot issues, and formed a preliminary consensus on some of these issues.

Delegates suggested that under the professional coordination of the SAARC Committee of Experts, under the professional guidance of the National Security Standards Committee, a "standardization research group for weak wires and cables for security use" should be formed to carry out research work and draft special reports as soon as possible. Industry authorities reflect the appeal.
