China's key technology to overcome oral vaccines for fish

Since 2004, the Institute of Biological Sciences of Fujian Academy of Agricultural Sciences has been dedicated to the innovative exploration of fish clinical medicine, and has created a process for the preparation of vaccines for fish immune stimulating compounds, and obtained three national invention patents.

It is understood that fish immunization usually uses injection, bath and oral inoculation. However, injection has problems that are difficult to operate, time-consuming and labor-intensive, and bath immunization is suitable for the fry stocking stage. Oral immunization is simple and inexpensive. It can overcome the drug resistance caused by antibacterial drugs and drug residues in fish, and help food safety.

The research and application of oral and freshwater fish oral vaccines in China is in its infancy.
