If the ordinary hard disk is used in the monitoring device, it will take a long time to read and write operations, which will inevitably affect the service life of the hard disk. Instant start voltage The instantaneous starting voltage of ordinary hard disks is generally above 2V or even higher, while the monitoring-grade hard disks start slowly, and the voltage is controlled below 2V to prevent the hard disk from being damaged due to excessively high instantaneous starting voltage. Instant start current The instantaneous startup current of ordinary hard disks is between 2.8A-3.2A, while the control current of monitoring hard disks is below 2A. In order to save the surveillance video for a long enough time, the monitoring equipment has a large number of hard disk installations, and the instantaneous startup current and voltage are small, which will greatly reduce the startup power consumption of the hard disk and increase the service life of the hard disk. Operating power consumption The operating power consumption of a common hard disk is about 14 watts, while the operating power consumption of a monitoring-grade hard disk is about 8 watts. Heat dissipation Because the operating power consumption of monitoring-grade hard drives is lower than that of ordinary hard drives, and most of the operating power consumption is converted into heat energy, the heat dissipation of monitoring-class hard drives is better than that of ordinary hard drives. Shock resistance Because the installation environment of monitoring equipment is more complicated, such as vehicle monitoring, the seismic requirements of the hard disk are relatively high, so the seismic hard disk is fully considered in the design process of the monitoring grade hard disk, and the ordinary hard disk has poor seismic performance and is easy to be hit or beat damage. reliability Because the surveillance-grade hard disk is mainly used for the storage of video surveillance recordings, the safety and reliability of the surveillance-grade hard disk is required to avoid the loss of important video files due to the damage of the hard disk. The safety and reliability of ordinary hard disks are also very high, but they are slightly worse than those of monitoring hard disks.
