Beijing time on Thursday (October 11), according to CNBC, Tesla, who has been in turmoil for several months due to CEO Musk, is pushing ahead with plans to build a production plant in China. According to people familiar with the matter, the company is Shanghai took the land to build the first overseas factory.

According to people familiar with the information, the Tesla is an exclusive bidder for an auction price of about 1 billion yuan ($145 million). They also said that the Shanghai government may announce the decision of Tesla to win the bid as early as this month.

Tesla signed a preliminary agreement with the Shanghai government on the construction of the plant in July. The plant plans to produce an annual output of 500,000 electric vehicles, exceeding the current total production of Tesla's only plant in the United States. Building a plant in China can help Tesla avoid import tariffs of up to 40% and lower the price of the world's largest electric car market in China.

Tesla has said that the Chinese factory can enhance its existing production capacity, and the company's US production business will not be affected.

The report said that progress in China's production plan is valuable good news for Tesla.

Earlier reports said Tesla plans to invest $5 billion in the plant near Shanghai and consider raising some of it in China. Musk told analysts at a conference call later in the day that he expected the plant to reach an annual production capacity of 250,000 vehicles and would require an investment of about $2 billion.
