This is one of the roving exhibition activities of Guangdong's furniture expansion of domestic demand promotion fees this year. In May and June 2013, Guangdong Furniture Association held exhibitions in Haikou, Hainan and Hefei, Anhui, attracting many well-known Guangdong furniture brands. The third- and fourth-level market development efforts increased. Reporters learned from the Guangdong Furniture Association that the total value of the furniture industry in Guangdong Province continued to decline last year, but the overall position still maintains a national leading position. According to data from the Guangdong Furniture Association, the domestic sales of Guangdong furniture industry last year significantly exceeded exports: last year, Guangdong's furniture exports totaled about 15.23 billion US dollars, up 2% year-on-year, the five-year average increase rate reached 7.2%; domestic sales totaled about 20 billion Yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10.4%, the five-year average increase rate reached 17.8%. According to the estimates of the Guangdong Furniture Association, the total production and sales of the furniture industry in Guangdong this year will reach 330 billion yuan, an increase of 10% over the expected value of last year, accounting for about 25% of the national total. The focus of this year will be to increase the development of the third and fourth-tier markets and strive for a 12.4% increase in domestic sales.
