The ball valve is mainly composed of a valve body, a valve stem, a ball body and a sealing ring. It is a 90° switch shut-off valve. It applies a certain torque to the upper end of the valve stem by means of a handle or a driving device, and transmits it to the ball to rotate it by 90°. The through hole of the sphere is coincident or perpendicular to the center line of the valve body passage, and the full opening or closing operation is completed. The commonly used ball valve structure is divided into two categories: a floating ball valve and a fixed ball valve.
The ball of the floating ball valve is freely supported on the sealing ring, and is in close contact with the downstream sealing ring under the action of fluid pressure to form a single-side sealing at the downstream end. It is suitable for low pressure, small diameter applications.
The ball of the fixed ball valve has upper and lower rotating shafts and is fixed in the bearing of the ball. Therefore, the ball is fixed, but the sealing ring is floating, and the sealing ring is pressed against the ball by the spring and the fluid thrust to generate the upstream end seal. Suitable for high pressure, large diameter applications.

The valve structure is more compact, lighter in weight and stronger. The track ball valve is a multi-turn ball valve that uses the principle of tilting and rotating to eliminate sealing surface scratches. When the valve is closed, the core is wedged to the sealing seat by mechanical force, ensuring a tight seal without the help of differential pressure; when the valve is opened, the core is tilted away from the seat, and the fluid along the line is along the ball. The core surface 360o passes through the valve evenly, eliminating localized erosion of the valve seat by the high velocity fluid. Because the valve is open and closed without friction, the operation is light and reliable.
