Zhang Guitian said that the new engine will increase the carrying capacity of China's Long March rocket in low earth orbit from the current 9 tons to 25 tons, and the carrying capacity of geosynchronous transfer orbit will increase from the current 5.5 tons to 14 tons, and it can launch 20 tons. According to Zhang Tao, deputy director of the General Engine Room of the 11th Aerospace Sixth Institute, China's rocket engines use nitrous oxide and dimethyl hydrazine as propellants, which are likely to cause environmental pollution. The new rocket engine uses liquid oxygen kerosene and liquid hydrogen liquid oxygen as propellant, which has the advantages of green environmental protection and non-toxicity. In addition, the new engine has a higher thrust, and the new engine's single thrust is increased by about 50% to 120 tons compared to the current engine.
