Shandong, Jiangsu, and the west have abundant resources such as salt and coal to become an active area for the chlor-alkali industry; East China and South China have become the most important consumer regions for chlor-alkali products because of their relatively developed economy, convenient transportation, and dense chlor-alkali downstream industries. Affected by the non-synchronized production and sales of chlor-alkali industry, the circulation of products has promoted the vigorous development of the logistics industry. Chlor-alkali enterprises in the northwest and north China are clustered, but there is very little local product to be digested. A large number of sources need to be shipped to East China and South China. Self-built logistics emerges as the times require. The self-built logistics of chlor-alkali enterprises is mainly concentrated in the north, but the whole is still in its infancy.

The northwest region is the main chlor-alkali production area in China, but downstream consumption is weak. Therefore, the main products of the local chlor-alkali enterprises are mostly shipped out of China, covering major markets such as North China, East China, South China, and Northeast China. Long transportation routes and a wide range of transportation are the logistics characteristics of chlor-alkali enterprises in this area. The self-built logistics in the northwest region is mainly based on railway transportation and supplemented by Qiyun. Since it is far away from ports and docks, it has no advantage in shipping. At present, Xinjiang Zhongtai, Xinjiang Tianye, Xinjiang Yihua, Inner Mongolia Yihua, Inner Mongolia Junzheng, Inner Mongolia Yili, Zhongyan Jilantai, Ningxia Iridium have their own steel transport lines, chlor-alkali products are directly pulled from the factory. Shandong Haili cooperates with Korean companies and has a fixed international Shipping line. As a national chlor-alkali province, Shandong has a large number of chlor-alkali production enterprises and is also a major consumer of chlor-alkali products. Most products are digested in the provinces, cities, and surrounding areas of Hebei, Shanxi, and Beijing. A small number of products are sold to southern China and even overseas. In addition to adopting Qiyun, it will also take iron and steel transportation. However, facing the problem of tight iron and steel wagons, it only serves as an auxiliary. When it is sold to South China or foreign trade, it is generally shipped by ship. Customers on the southeast coast come to Hong Kong to provide goods.

The sources in the northeast and southwest regions are basically digested in the local area and the amount of goods for export is small. Some of the products in the northeast are exported by trucks and railways to Tianjin, Hebei and other areas to the north of the Yellow River, and some of them are shipped to southern China. The southwestern China has a special geographic location and a large number of mountainous roads, and the local chloro-alkali products have high prices. The sources of goods are basically digested in the local area. Small amounts, a large part of chloralkali raw materials and products rely on Qiyun. In these two regions, only Fangda Jinhua and Yibin Tianyuan have self-built teams.

Chlor-alkali enterprises in Central China have no self-built logistics. The products of chlor-alkali enterprises in Henan, Hunan, and Hubei were mostly digested locally, and some products were shipped to East China and Guangdong, and the sales radius was controlled within 500 kilometers.

Chlor-alkali enterprises in East China and South China have no self-built logistics. Because the logistics transportation radius of the chlor-alkali enterprises in these two regions is relatively short, and they are mostly digested in the local area, the automobile transportation is basically adopted. As regards raw material procurement, most of the ethylene production companies in China are concentrated in East China, so they can be piped from the port terminal to the plant site. The transport of dangerous chemicals such as caustic soda and ** is also mostly digested in the surrounding areas due to the limitation of the transportation radius.

From the perspective of the operation of chlor-alkali enterprises with self-built logistics, the routes are mainly transported within the province, with little transportation outside the province. The transportation modes are concentrated on the steam and rail transport, and the shipping scale is small. Both the fleet resources and the operation and management are Not yet mature.

Although many chlor-alkali enterprises have established their own logistics lines one after another, the volume and flexibility of transportation are far from enough, and it is difficult to circumvent the “short board” such as single transportation lines and high transportation risks. For example, the majority of self-built logistics is mainly based on short-distance vehicular transport in the province. Considering that there are many transportation routes and high costs in the country, self-constructed fleets cannot meet multi-level demands; while the Northwest Rail Line, from September to October each year, is due to Xinjiang agricultural and sideline products. At the peak of transportation, the transportation of chlor-alkali products was limited. At present, there are 200 chlor-alkali enterprises across the country. In 2013, the main product PVC production was 15.3 million tons, and caustic soda production was 28.5 million tons. According to incomplete statistics, the product circulation in the main producing areas in the northwest and north China accounts for 70%. According to the profit margin of 20 yuan per ton, the chlor-alkali enterprise logistics will generate about 500 million yuan in the market. Starting from the chlor-alkali enterprises themselves, taking chlor-alkali products as an example, 1 ton of PVC or caustic soda is transported from the northwestern iron to southern China, and the freight is about 400-500 yuan, which is calculated according to September South China PVC 6000 yuan/ton, 99% caustic soda 2300 yuan/ton. , then shipping costs account for at least 10% of the cost, and the maximum can even reach more than 20%.
