Recently, Mitsui & Co. announced that it will invest approximately 16 billion days in a subsidiary of the Dow Chemical Company in Brazil to produce bio-chemical products from sugarcane.

The joint venture company, Mitsui & Co., will take up 50% of the shares, and it will start a one-stop business from sugarcane farms to biochemical products and build the world's largest bio-resin plant. The factory is scheduled to start production in 2015 with an initial annual production capacity of 350,000 tons.
