The U.S. Department of Commerce recently finalized its decision to impose a countervailing duty of 8.02% to 374.15% and an anti-dumping duty of 32.79% to 33.28% for aluminum profiles produced in China. In August and October last year, the US Department of Commerce initially imposed a 137.65% countervailing duty and a 59.31% anti-dumping duty on aluminum profiles produced in China. Compared with the preliminary ruling, the US Department of Commerce finalized the anti-dumping duties. Decline, but countervailing duties have risen sharply.

Aluminum profiles are mainly used in the construction industry and can also be used to make solar supports, cars and boats. According to statistics from the US Department of Commerce, the total value of aluminum imports from China in 2010 was 503 million U.S. dollars, slightly lower than the 514 million U.S. dollars in 2009.

This round of “double counter-instances” for aluminum profiles produced in China was initiated by the U.S. largest trade union organization Steel Workers Federation in collaboration with the Aluminum Fair Trade Committee of the Industry Association. After the final decision was made by the US Department of Commerce on the 29th, the case was handed over to the US International Trade Commission for final ruling, after which the US Department of Commerce could issue anti-dumping and anti-subsidy orders against aluminum products made in China.

China is currently the world's largest exporter of aluminum profiles. Previously, Chinese aluminum profile manufacturers and exporters stated that it was not the aluminum profiles imported from China that caused losses to U.S. manufacturers, but the U.S. economy that has been weakening since 2008, and part of the participation in the investigation process The anti-complaint US company also imported aluminum profiles from China for the production of finished products.
