According to Reuters, in late April, a private feed company in China purchased 115,000 tons of US corn, and the first batch of the two batches of cargo was loaded into warehouses last week. This is the first time that China has imported US corn since 2006.

Traders revealed that the Chinese quarantine authorities have allowed the use of the first batch of US GM corn in animal feed for four years, and that the batch of corn had been loaded into warehouses last week.

China has strict requirements for the import of genetically modified cereals: it should have an import license and quality safety certificate issued by the state. If this batch of corn is passed smoothly, it may mean that the United States will export more corn to China. China is currently the largest US soybean importer.

The low price of US corn will continue to attract Chinese feed mills and enterprises. Since the end of April, Chinese companies have ordered more than 1 million tons of corn from the United States.
