Jiang Yaoping said at the National Electromechanical Technology Industry Business Conference held here that electromechanical and high-tech products are an important part of China's foreign trade. The stock is over half, with an increase of 60%. It is an important carrier for transforming the growth mode of foreign trade. Trade also accounts for half of China's foreign trade. Whether or not to maintain stable growth in exports of electromechanical and high-tech products and processing trade is crucial to maintaining stable growth of foreign trade. It is imperative to reverse the momentum of the growth rate decline. The national electromechanical technology industry business system must carry out practical work to ensure growth, do practical things, and work creatively.
Zhang Wei, director of the Department of Mechanical and Electronic Technology of the Ministry of Commerce, said that in 2009 the Ministry of Commerce will adopt six measures to promote the sustainable and healthy development of the electromechanical technology industry.
First, adjust and improve policies, and strive to maintain steady growth in exports of electromechanical and high-tech products;
The second is to speed up the construction of export bases and promote the adjustment of export structure;
The third is to optimize the import structure and expand the import of advanced technology equipment and key components;
Fourth, continue to adjust the processing trade policy, stabilize export growth, and promote transformation and upgrading;
Fifth, do a good job in export control, expand high-tech trade, and safeguard national security;
The sixth is to deepen the construction of industrial linkages and strengthen services to enterprises.
It is reported that in January 2009, China's import and export of mechanical and electrical products was 75.34 billion US dollars, down 28.4% year-on-year, of which exports were 49.14 billion US dollars, down 20.9%, accounting for 54.3% of the country's foreign trade exports.
