Diamond grinding wheel can be used to process all kinds of cemented carbide tools with large application and wide application in the mechanical industry. Especially for some tools with complex appearance and high precision, diamond grinding wheel processing can show its superiority. See Table 5 for the comparison between the application effect of the diamond grinding wheel and the ordinary grinding wheel when grinding the magnetic core. Ordinary abrasive tools are widely used in machining, and the application of various new abrasive tools and advanced grinding processes puts higher demands on the abrasive dressing technology. The diamond roller is a high-efficiency forming and trimming tool. It is used for dressing the grinding wheel with high efficiency, short dressing time, strong forming ability and stable precision of the trimming surface. Under normal conditions, a diamond roller can be used for tens of thousands of grinding wheel dressings. Especially in the mass production of parts with complex profiles and high precision requirements, the use of diamond rollers to trim the grinding tools is more significant.
Cubic boron nitride (CBN) grinding wheels, cutting tools, oilstones, honing sticks and other products have been applied to different degrees in tools, automobiles, bearings, machine tools, aerospace, military and other industries, and the application fields are expanding. The application ratio of CBN products in various industries is shown in Figure 4.
CBN abrasive tools are known as “semi-permanent abrasive tools†because of their high hardness, strong grinding ability, high processing precision, long service life, low dressing frequency, high production efficiency and favorable production automation. The research and development of China's CBN abrasive tools began in the mid-1970s through the use of taps, ball screws, machine guides, rotor slots, bearing inner surfaces, gears, engine cylinder liners, camshafts, crankshafts, oil pump nozzles and other difficult-to-machine materials. Grinding processing has carried out a large number of experimental research work and achieved good application results. At present, China's CBN grinding tools have formed a series of specifications, and the maximum diameter of CBN grinding wheels can reach 750mm (under development) 1100mm grinding wheel), the maximum line speed can reach 80m/s. The performance of some products has approached or even exceeded the level of similar foreign products.
