London March 11 news, LME base metals rose mixed on Friday, but closed lower from the day as the dollar weakened. Three-month zinc closed up 10 US dollars at 1,440 yuan per ton. In afternoon trading, it hit a fresh high of 1,444 in seven-and-a-half years, and rose to 1,446 in electronic trading systems. Three-month lead rose $5 to 978. Three-month aluminum fell by 16 US dollars to 1,990 yuan per ton. Aluminium rose to a new 10-year high of US$2,016 in the morning and once fell to 1,950 at the beginning of the session. The US dollar weakened in volatile market conditions on Friday, so the former US announced that its trade deficit in January rose to a second record high. Three-month copper fell 8 US dollars to 3,242 US dollars per ton, earlier fell 125 US dollars or about 4% to 3,175. Three-month nickel rose 120 US dollars to 16,075 yuan per ton. Three-month tin rose 50 US dollars to 8,490/500 per ton.
