How to machine large keyway with small milling machine

The processing of large workpieces with small equipment is a common occurrence in many small factories and maintenance workshops. For example, milling the keyway in the middle of the large drive shaft (Fig. 1), under normal circumstances, direct machining with the XQ6225 universal rotary head milling machine is not acceptable. To this end, we cast two cement foundation piers 7 at the appropriate position on the front of the XQ6225 milling machine, and then fix the brackets with the anchor bolts 6, and place the V-shaped iron 5 on the bracket to fix the workpiece 4 (Fig. 2). Remove the universal swivel head of the milling machine and install the T8013 boring machine on the iron bed table to mill the keyway.
