Saint-Gobain will close its Arden factory by the end of this year

Saint-Gobain Abrasives recently announced that it will close its manufacturing plant in the Arden area and move to Travre Rest.

Most of the 39 employees in the former Arden area will be relocated with the factory and the relocation is expected to be completed by the end of this year. The Saint-Gobain plant produces grinding and repair tools for aerospace, automotive and bearing applications.

Robert N. Smith, president of Saint-Gobain Superhard Materials North America, said: "Relocation is a difficult choice, but it is necessary to make this decision based on the current economic situation. This decision will enhance the overall competitive strength of Saint-Gobain, so We will begin the implementation of the relocation as soon as possible."
