It wasn't until early December that a gale-cooling weather gave the Nanyue land some coolness. In the office of Sophia Home Furnishing Co., Ltd. in Tianhe District, Guangzhou, the winter sun shines on Wang Biao through the window glass. He was a little tired on his face, and while fixing the collar with his hand, he said to the reporter who was going to take pictures: Fortunately, he was wearing a suit today.

This is Wang Biao's fifth year in Sofia, and these five years have also become the fastest-growing stage of Sofia: from market layout to brand upgrade, Sofia has grown rapidly and become the first brand recognized by the overall wardrobe industry. In April 2011, Sofia landed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange and the first listed company in the overall wardrobe industry was born. Wang Biao said that he once had a regret about the first brand, which he made up for in Sofia.

An ambition about the first brand

After graduating from the Department of Economics of Jinan University in 1996, Wang Biao was assigned to work in an agency publication under the System Reform Commission. Contrary to current young people rushing into the system, he chose to leave in just one year. "I want to do market-related work, and I want to experience more." With this in mind, Wang Biao entered a flooring company with a state-owned background in Guangzhou to take charge of market work.

At that time, Wang Biao's flooring company was gaining momentum, competing with the iconic north and south, competing for the top brand in the industry. However, due to institutional reasons, this company eventually missed the first brand. Wang Biao said: "As a marketing person, you will have such ambitions. It was a pity that you missed it at that time." In 2007, Wang Biao joined the Sofia wardrobe and began another road to dream.

Sofia has a decentralized boss, and Chairman Jiang Ganjun handed over all market work to Wang Biao. At that time, the custom wardrobe industry had just emerged, and the market was immature, the standards were not systematic, and the methods were unclear. Wang Biao is about to face: how to build a mature market system. Wang Biao did not live up to the trust of his boss. Within a few years, Sofia quickly and steadily grew into the industry's first brand. Wang Biao said: "This kind of opportunity can't be met in my career. I am very lucky to have met."

Spirit of harmless coexistence

Wang Biao spent a lot of time on business trips. He traveled to markets all over the country and contacted various people. He even regarded frequent business trips as a pleasure. Proportionally proportional to the pay, Sofia's dealer group is considered to be the most prominent among its peers in terms of financial strength, operating ability, and management ability. And in the past few years, he concluded: "If I say what I have done in these years, then there is only one thing, and strive to improve the average level of Sofia partners."

Managing channels means having to do one thing-"cut out" those dealers who cannot keep up with the development of the enterprise. This is what Wang Biao thinks is the most painful thing. "When we have to remove a dealer, we will try our best to make him retreat without hurting his real interests, even if it is his last order." Wang Biao said, he positioned himself as a dealer The link between them, "is coexistence, not management."

This kind of "harmless coexistence spirit" that Wang Biao said was also implemented when Sofia faced her colleagues, and even more. In 2010, Sofia actively participated in and promoted the establishment of the first wardrobe organization in the overall wardrobe industry, the Cabinet Committee of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce Wardrobe Furniture Decoration Chamber of Commerce. At the same time, Sofia took the initiative to invite colleagues to visit the factory and set off an atmosphere of mutual openness in the wardrobe industry. It is such behavior that Sofia is respected by her peers.

Growth: the confusion of professional managers

Wang Biao believes that his personality is in line with the characteristics of professional managers: he does not have too many demands on himself, but he has a sense of responsibility for the demands of others. Like most professional managers, career ambition is also one of his internal motivations. With his participation, Sofia's rise and listing allowed him to fulfill his ambition of "first brand."

In an interview with the media once, Wang Biao said that his simplest wish is to put down his job, hide in the mountains, read a few good books, and sleep well. As Sofia gradually entered the mature path, Wang Biao could finally travel less frequently, but farther from his "simple wish".

"In the past five years, I feel that using my existing ideas and vision can drive the development of Sofia. But as the company grows, I must keep up with it." Wang Biao clearly knows that he once "cut off" Like those dealers, facing a fast-growing company, they either keep up with it or get rid of it. He said: The more you feel successful, the closer you are to helplessness.
