Materials supplier Ogilvy & Mather (Chohoho Falls, Ohio) has expanded its ColorRx range of precolored compounds for the medical field. The product portfolio now includes PC/ABS and PC/polyester alloys.

Americhem develops medical grade PC/ABS and PC/polyester alloy products

PA-2000RX (PC/ABS alloy) and FRPCT1100RX (PC/polyester alloy) have been tested by third parties to meet ISO 10993 biocompatibility standards and are listed as self-extinguishing materials by UL. According to Americhem, PC/polyester materials have better chemical resistance than standard grade PC/ABS. Americhem fully supports biocompatibility and chemical resistance testing. All ColorRx products are available worldwide.

“Our ColorRx products have passed biocompatibility testing and are compliant with USP Class 6 or ISO 10993 standards,” said Jim Figaniak, vice president and general manager of Omega Engineering Mixing. “We also offer locking formulations with short lead times. There is no minimum order quantity. These services help to alleviate material risks for medical manufacturers, speed up product development, and accelerate commercialization."
